Principal Investigator, Mathematical Data Science Lab

Professor, Statistics in the department of Statistical Sciences and Operations Research, VCU Richmond

Dr. Boone is a full professor of Statistics in the department of Statistical Sciences and Operations Research. He has a solid record of publications (more that 70 research articles) and supervised many Ph.D. students. His research is in Bayesian methodology with applications in a wide variety fo fields including Ecology, Environmental Science, Forensic Science, Biology, Engineering, Computer Vision and Neuroscience. He presents regularly at international conferences on various topics.  

Dr. Boone teaches courses in Statistics from introductory to the doctoral level and is eager to work with both undergraduate and graduate students on research projects.  He serves as the Director for the Statistics and Analytics Consulting Lab and as the President of the Southern Regional Council on Statistics (2021-2023) and has been on many elected positions within the American Statistical Association and The International Environmetrics Society.
