Byrad Yyelland teaches undergraduate courses in the social/behavioral sciences, usually Sociology and Anthropology.
Byrad’s research is qualitative and often in the realms of ethnography or phenomenology research. His areas of interest include higher education in the international context, the relationship of social sciences with art and design, documentaries on bamboo, and new work on the relationship of tattooing with spirituality.
Byrad’s educational background includes a BA (Hons) in Psychology and MA Sociology from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada, and an EdD in Educational Leadership from the University of Calgary, also in Canada.
Byrad is also chief instructor of Shito-Ryu Karate-do Genbu-Kai Qatar.
