rola al soubaihi
Collaborator, Nanotechnology and Textile Lab
Rola Al Soubaihi received her BSc in Science and an M.S. in Solid State Physics from Yarmouk University, Jordan, and currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Materials Engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology (expected graduation Dec 2023). She has over 20 years of research and teaching experience, including her positions as adjunct faculty at VCUarts Qatar, teaching and research assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University, and a high school teacher at the Ministry of Education, Jordan. Rola's research objective is to create nanomaterials for environmental and medical applications by leveraging the novel properties found at the nanoscale and developing methods to build materials from the nanoscale up to the macro world to capitalize on the enhanced performance characteristics demonstrated by these materials. Rola's previous research experience includes applying photocatalysis for water cleaning and anti-bacterial coating, carbon-activated nanosheets for medical applications, and catalysis for environmental applications. She was awarded the second-place Environmental research posters at the Materials Science and Engineering Symposium 2018, Qatar University, and the third-place Health research posters award at Qatar Annual Research Conference at Doha, Qatar.
