Mar Canet Sola is an artist, creative coder, and researcher working at the intersection of art, technology, and society. He is a research fellow and PhD candidate at the Baltic Film, Media, and Arts School at Tallinn University. His doctoral research, Opening a Toolbox of Artistic Strategies using Generative AI, examines how artists integrate deep learning into creative practice.
As an experienced artist, Mar works primarily as part of the duo Varvara & Mar, co-founded in 2009, whose work explores the social implications of the information age through AI, interactivity, and public participation. He was also part of the artist collectives Derivart and Lumm
