multiversity grant: desert futures design studio

Desert Futures Design Studio is an outcome of the (IN)>Tangible Lab, developed through a successfully secured Multiversity Grant. The studio convened students and researchers from across Education City to explore cultural, ecological, and speculative futures of Qatar’s desert through collaborative design and creative practice.

Building on the Lab’s engagement with local ecological knowledge, the studio combined field exploration, workshops, and experimental making to reflect on evolving relationships between people, land, and climate in collaboration with Georgetown University in Qatar, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, and Earthna Center for a Sustainable Future.
