desert truffles and the living heritage of qatar
(IN)›Tangible Lab presented at AMPS London - Heritages 2025: Critical Questions - Contemporary Practice, focusing on the desert truffle as a bridge between ecology, culture, history, and culinary traditions in Qatar.
The presentation argued that food practices, landscape, and collective memory are deeply intertwined, and that artistic and design-based research can serve as a powerful method for preserving and transmitting living heritage. By situating desert truffles within broader environmental and cultural systems, the work highlights how heritage is continuously shaped through place and community.
