Comics Lab
Comics Lab aims to facilitate the production of comic and sequential art in the region by fusing the creative production of the artwork with the academic interests of the VCUarts Qatar. The Comics Lab aims to structure production and publication as academic communication, inviting academics who study comics of the MENA region to curate anthologies of work around regions, themes or narratives. Over several iterations - we anticipate the lab would produce one anthology per year - the collective issues would showcase a diverse, rich, nuanced tapestry of narratives from the region. The lab would be multi-disciplinary and would involve working with editors, writers, and artists at various other institutions.
