Ear Worlds: Sonoric Mobilities Across the Indian Ocean
October 22, 2025
This immersive lecture offers our students the opportunity to dive into the ear worlds by working through ways of listening to sonic, historical and cultural mobilities. Discussions will center around multi-disciplinary approaches in artistic research for the historiography of aural pasts. The focus will be on the circulation and wateriness of memory, the resonant connectivities and sonic materialities flowing across the ocean between Asia and Africa.
Dr. Kathyayini Dash is an Assistant Professor at the Performing and Visual Arts Division, School of Arts and Sciences, Ahmedabad University.
