Dr. Christina Tang is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical and Life Sciences Engineering College of Engineering, VCU Richmond
Dr. Christina Tang is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical and Life Sciences Engineering College of Engineering, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Christina Tang specializes in polymer fiber processing and fabricating and characterizing responsive fibers. They work on polymer science, nanotechnology, and biotechnology interface to design and apply novel multi-functional materials as biosensors, drug delivery platforms with improved potency, etc. For example, her research teams have developed fibers that change color in response to chemical stimuli, temperature, and strain. Through mentoring and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education outreach, she is committed to broadening the participation of underrepresented groups in Engineering.
